November 2008

Milford Grand Marnier was third in the Search for a Star show pony section at HOYS, a very impressive achievement for a partnership that was new this season. He has since been sold and we wish him every success in his new home.

Milford Fair Kismet was been sent away to be professionally broken through October and made it to her first ever ridden show at the beginning of November, where she behaved perfectly and came fourth in a strong class of eight. She has since been brought home and turned away and will be brought out under saddle in spring if she is not sold before.

August 2008

Our homebred stallion "Milford Fair Kestrel" and our section D "Dearne Valley Spartacus" (Sparky) made the trip to Ponies UK summer championships in August. Kestrel had a very impressive set of results, being third in his section of the Kingsford final, winning his section B in hand class and winning his section B ridden class and being first reserve champion in the evening performance. Sparky only competed in one in hand class and achieved a creditable third of twelve and most importantly behaved impeccably, it being his second ever show.

July 2008

Our three year old filly "Milford Fair Breeze" made her showing debut at the Great Yorkshire Show where she was a creditable second in a strong class of fourteen. Despite apalling conditions she still managed to show her floating paces! Breeze is definitely one to watch for the future and she is all the more special to us because both her sire and dam are also homebred.

Breeze continued her showing success by achieving a first and reserve champion in the section B section and second in a strong hunter pony class at Border Union show.

Milford Beauty Queen has been sold to the Anapon stud in Poland, and Milford Fair Honeydew has been sold to Debra Wilson. Good luck to both of those ponies for the future!

June 2008

Congratulations to Milford Grand Marnier, our homebred 14.2hh show pony who qualified for HOYS Search for a Star in his first ever HOYS qualifier. "Andy" is sired by welsh section B stallion Brynoffa Benetton and out of a TB mare Eppy Marner. He is currently leased to Anita Lawton and ridden by Alix and we wish them continuing success.

Milford Fair Kashmere is also continuing his success including qualifying for RIHS as a 13hh SHP.

Our Welsh Section D gelding Dearne Valley Spartacus made his showring debut, winning the Section D barren mare and gelding in hand class at Crowle show. Sadly Sparky is for sale due to our commitments to homebred stock, and can be seen on the "for sale" page. He will be sold with entries to Ponies UK summer champs (undersaddle) and will be shown there if not sold before.

June saw the arrival of our last foal for this year, a palomino filly out of Rotherwood Maysong who will be retained. To see this year's foals, some of which are for sale, visit the "Foals" pages.
