Milford Stud
Milford Stud was established in 1978 with the aim of breeding Welsh Section B ponies of the type and quality to excel at the highest level showing, and with the temperament to make sensible, trustworthy children's riding ponies. To this end only ponies with the best old bloodlines are bred from with the emphasis on quality, type, temperament and movement.

Testimonial to this policy is illustrated by one of our stallions 'Milford Fanfare' (see stallions page). Fanfare is from a very successful family; his full brother 'Milford Funtime' won HOYS 12hh M&M workers and was reserve champion in 2005, ridden by Sasha Erander.
Many other Milford ponies have graced the show and competition rings, but credit must also go to the 'unsung heros' who fulfill their purpose outside of the show ring.
In the 1999 Scottish & Northern WPCA stud ratings we were 1st Sec B Stud and Res Ch overall for England and Scotland and in 2000 we went one better, being 1st Sec B, Ch England and Overall Sup Ch prefix for England and Scotland. In hand showing has been cut back in recent years to concentrate on ridden ponies.
2007 saw us take on a new venture with the introduction of the stunning CHAPS Graded Chestnut Tobiano Riding Pony stallion "Rhoden Sensation", with the aim of breeding coloured part bred welsh show ponies.
The stud relocated to the beautiful Yorkshire Dales in 1996 and expanded to our present size of 30- 35 ponies of varying heights and colours, bred on the above principles. We usually have a selection of stock for sale and we accept a limited number of mares to stud.
